So here are some pictures of the Pacific Coast Highway (CA #1)--it is that little white line around the coast!  Of course part of it was washed out with the mud slides, so we're driving up and over the mountains to get around the missing part of #1--pretty awesome!

This is along the Mississippi River Road between Baton Rouge and New Orleans.  Wow!  It was like another world--very remote--and we couldn't actually see the river--just the levee.

CS gets back in the water December 2009

Caribbean Soul had been out of the water for about 6 months. These pictures are of her splashing a few days before Christmas 2009. We revarnished the teak rail, recoated the topsides, and cleaned the decks while she was out. We also restitched lots of canvas and had our sails restitched and improved. Efforts to save our failing fridge did not work, so replacing the fridge and working on the wind generator will become in-the-water projects.

This is a quick video of our uneventful trip down the waterway to the Beaufort mooring. Early January 2010 we are flying to Denmark as daughter Karen is delivering her first child--our first grandchild. Karen and her husband Drew have welcomed me (Penny) to join them in the delivery room for the main event. John will hang out in the waiting room.

So Caribbean Soul is alive and well--just hanging out in Taylors Creek, Beaufort, NC. These snow pictures were taken by our friend Barbara Lee Davis the second week in February. We were flying home from Denmark and missed the Big Snow in Beaufort.
