Dinner with Carrie, Mark and Kyle

This is what our anchorage at Lake Worth, North Palm Beach looks like when the sun is out.
We found our Florida relatives! When we anchored in Lake Worth Sunday evening, we gave Carrie Lozen a call to say "Hi" and coordinate a visit. Carrie and Mark and Kyle agreed to come over to the boat Monday evening for dinner. Of course, nothing is simple! Carrie, Mark and Kyle all had to finish a full day of work/school and then drive about 20 minutes to a shopping center near our anchorage. Then John dinghyed over to pick them up in the dark. Also, the dinghy area is marginal and underwater part of the time, so getting in the dinghy involves wading a bit. Our three guests were mighty good sports about all this and did I mention that it was raining on and off the whole time? Well, they got here and we grilled steaks and told stories--a fun time. Carrie brought strawberries for dessert. Just as they were leaving, we remembered to take a picture for all of you. Please know that we were standing in the pitch dark for each of these pictures--that's why we may look a little like deer in the headlights.

As soon as John got back to the boat a major downpour cut loose. We sure hope that Carrie, Mark and Kyle got to their car in the parking lot from the dinghy area before they got soaked. They were mighty good sports and we had a great time. Thanks Carrie, Mark and Kyle for coming!
